have just done revision test 5 in the AGK book and got this question:
A left hand zero ammeter shows a constant HIGH charge rate when;
1. Alternator has failed - NO
2. Alternator voltage is low - NO
3. The electrical loads are on - Correct in the marking key
4. The battery is being overcharged - what i chose (not correct as per marking key)
I have notes (cant find it in the book now) that
Normal ops = small (+)
High (+) = high load
So I suppose I am maybe RFTQ'ing wrong but to me [i][b]constant HIGH charge[/b][/i] means overcharged. I suppose its hard without seeing a picture maybe. Whats considered HIGH?????

My guess would be that the battery is not accepting its charge (maybe a crook cell) and the battery voltage is remaining well below the system voltage, resulting in a continuous high current flow to the battery.
