Clarification please
Firing interval is 720/number of cylinders. Is this the case for all four stroke motors? I am not familiar with V type engines and was wondering if there is a motor that would have 2 cylinders firing at the same time? or do they always only have one cylinder firing at any one time?
All four stroke engines will have the firing interval indicated by the formula 720/number of cylinders. Since it takes two revolutions to complete the cycle and every cylinder must fire once during the cycle, that interval is necessary if you are going to get evenly spaced power pulses - which is necessary of course. It doesn't matter how the engine is configured. "v", "in line" or "radial", the firing interval is always 720/number of cylinders.
