Hi, can someone please explain why the answer is (C) for the question below. I disagree with this answer. Found it on a AGK past paper.

q) Your aircraft's fuel-injected engine if fitted with a turbine transducer for measuring fuel flow. With normal power and mixture settings the fuel flow gauge displays abnormally high and fluctuating readings. Probable cause in this case would be:
a) a blocked fuel filter
b) excessively high temperature
c) a broken fuel line
d) an overly rich mixture strength

I personally would have gone with D. But the given answer is C.

TIA
