No problems. You won't get a different licence mate, that IS your licence and you can put it in a licence wallet to protect it. Available from pilot shops.

When you get a new licence (PPL, CPL) you will be sent a new one to reflect your new privileges (GFPT is a sticky label so you don't need the paper licence to use it).

Sorry to disappoint, it's not very glamorous but it is what it is!

Ahh the ATPL thingo is just a measure of how many posts I've made. It's not far from the truth.. except I don't have 100 night hours (close though!) and I don't hold or ever held a MECIR along with a lot of the other requirements!

I have about 700 TT.

Actually I'm not really looking for a jet job, I instruct at a flying school in Perth and really enjoy it and want to keep enjoying it as long as they'll let me do it!

Hi Folks,

Just wondering when does a license actually becomes effective e.g. PPL? Is it when CASA processes it and sends you the license? Or when you have completed all the license requirements and send the forms off?

I couldn't find in the regs where it states this.

Thanks,
Brendan.

Hi,

You will have to wait for your PPL to come in the post before you can use it. You can still fly but will be operating under your GFPT privileges. Not sure if it would be in the regs, however with a PPL there is no real way other than a copy of the completed flight test form to prove you have passed the test, until your licence comes of course. With GFPT's, a sticky label is placed in your logbook by the ATO immediately after the test so you can use it straight away.

Hope this helps!
