Hi all,
We're developing a series of screencast style tutorials to introduce new students to the new online learning environment. These tutorials can also serve as a preview of typical course content and give prospective students a chance to see just what they are letting themselves in for.
The first of these tutorials is available now and you'll find it in the new Tutorials section.

More tutorials will appear as time permits. Any feedback is more than welcome.
Cheers,
Rich
Richard,
I'm feeling a little groggy at the moment from a dose of jet lag but I found the tutorial to be clear, concise and delivered in an easy listening and friendly manner.
Regards,
Loro.
The second tutorial is up and can be found in the online tutorials section.
This one covers quite a lot of ground as it introduces the course page. This is the first page of your active course and as such is the launching point into all of the activities associated with your course. The tutorial covers:
* the information blocks available
* using the course progress checklist
* administering your profile
* the student gradebook including a discussion on how a typical course is assessed. This is quite an important section so make sure you check it out.
Cheers,
Rich
P.S. Thanks for the feedback, Loro 🙂
The third in the series of screencasts is now online. This one demonstrates how to use the multimedia resources of the online courses namely:
* E-Text viewer application
* Time Out with Bob videos
* In Class with Bob
* Lesson formats
You can find it in the tutorials section mentioned above or here's the direct link.
Cheers,
Rich
The next tutorial is available in the screencasts section. This one introduces forums and blogs and demonstrates using these tools to aid your learning.
Use the course forums to avoid isolation while learning and to post questions and get help from student colleagues, instructors and mentors.
You can use blog posts to collect summaries, notes and guides for your personal reference or open them up to other students on your course. It's up to you.
Cheers,
Rich
This is the final tutorial of the series and covers the exercises and exams you'll find in a typical online course. You'll take another look at the gradebook and get a feel for how the different types of quiz/exam activity can work together to get you on top of the course material.
The tutorial then rounds off with a couple of general tips on how you can approach studying online with the courses.
You will find the tutorial in the Online Courses - Tutorials section.
Thanks for watching and have a nice weekend everybody!
Cheers,
Rich
