Hey
Can I grab a clarification with this question, the off duty period is actually between the 2300 and 0559 (finishing time of FDP is 0200)
So technically you only require 8 hour, which means you could start at 1000, however 1200 is the only viable option. Just more about the reasoning behind it behind the correct answer states you require 10 hours.

The Answer is (d). Reference is App 5. para 1.6 and 5.1(b). An FDP must be followed by at least 10 consecutive hours off with access to suitable sleeping accommodation for 8 of them. That being so, the earliest time at which a person could commence an FDP the next day is 1200 LMT. As you have already this week worked 4 FDPs that finished between the hours of 0000 LMT and 0459 LMT, you also cannot for the rest of the week work another FDP that finishes between 0000 LMT and 0459 LMT.
Yep that I understand, except 5.1, in the question the duty ended at 0200, so 5.1 (a) is correct, the off duty period would include between 2300-0559, so you require 8 hours not 10 hours?
OR
when it says include the period 2300-0559 it means it has to include the entire period, so even if you started your off duty at 2301, you would need 10 hours?
