On page 1.12 of the Bob Tait CPL law book, a question asked about GFPT and the rights of a solo student. Is this an outdated question as it refers to CAR 5.69 which is not in the current CAR. As far as I'm aware most student information is in CASR part 61. Would I be correct here? Am I just reading an outdated CPL law text book?

Yes, you must be reading an old book. In the current version those references point to the CASR. The change to the CASR was made some time ago.
