Q25 in the Final Test 3 asks:
[i]An aircraft is established on final in the region of reverse command. If the pilot now increases the back pressure on the control column the effect on the rate of descent and IAS will be....[/i]. The answer is [i]IAS will decrease and rate of descent will increase[/i].
I'm not sure why rate of descent would increase? I thought if you were flying at a lower IAS, you would be covering less ground in the same time?

Rate of descent has nothing to do with ground distance covered.
If a rocket drops down vertically, with no ground distance travelled, would you say the rate of descent is 0?
You will cover less ground but the rate of descent increases as you no longer have as much lift. Weight is now more than lift available so you will 'fall' out of the sky quicker.
